QUALIFICATIONS:             Certified or eligible for substitute certification (60 hrs)

 

REPORTS TO:                    Building administrators (appropriate training will be provided by administrator)

 

JOB GOALS:  This person will work with students who are having difficulty making appropriate decisions in school.  Students will go to the Recovery Room/Supervised Learning Center to “process” with the supervisor.  Students will discuss their behaviors, role play, fill out any necessary paperwork, etc.  The goal is for student to take accountability for their actions and ultimately make better decisions.  There will also be in-school suspension “slots” in this room.  These slots will help keep students in school where we know they are safe.  Data will be kept on all students in the Recovery Room/Structured Learning Center.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 1.  Develop and refine standards of student behavior needed to achieve in the classroom setting.

 2.  Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve      attitude and learning problems.

 3.  Evaluate students’ behavioral growth and keep appropriate records.

 4.  Interact with students and provide assistance on assignments at all times.

 5.  Communicate with office staff and teachers regarding student work and attendance.

 6.  Communicate with teachers and administration when students need more work.

 7.  Adhere to PBIS philosophy and expectations.

 8.  Enforce the expectations of the recovery room.

 9.  Communicate with parents as directed by administration. 

10. Attend applicable PBIS Tier meetings.
