The Excelsior Springs School District has a secondary Special Education teacher position for the 2018-19 school year. 

The teacher will develop lesson plans, learning experiences, and instructional materials to assure age-appropriate skills are achieved to the best of each child's ability. The teacher will promote and evaluate academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports. The teacher will appropriately and effectively communicate with parents, students, other district staff and the public. The teacher will identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, behavior and learning problems. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to: attending staff meetings & serving on staff committees as required; assisting in development or revision of curriculum; promoting parent involvement; determining and requisitioning materials and supplies for classroom activities.
